TEKNOFEST Aerospace and Technology Festival, which was first held in 2018; it aims to increase interest in technology in society and raise awareness about Türkiye's transformation into a society that produces national technology by hosting many activities such as technology competitions, air shows, concerts, talks and events on various subjects.

What is TEKNOFEST?

TEKNOFEST is the world’s largest aerospace, and technology festival, playing a critical role in the development of Türkiye’s national technology ecosystem. It is organized through the collaboration of numerous public institutions, private sector partners, universities, and media organizations.

First held in 2018, TEKNOFEST brings together millions of visitors of all ages through technology competitions, air shows, exhibitions, workshops, talks, concerts, and digital experience zones. To date, TEKNOFEST has hosted over 11 million visitors, received more than 4.7 million competition applications, and reached over 1.9 million teams, making it one of the most widely participated technology events in the world. 

Organized under the leadership of the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation) and the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Industry and Technology, TEKNOFEST stands out as a strong example of multi-stakeholder collaboration in the technology ecosystem.
 

The Mission and Vision of TEKNOFEST

The primary mission of TEKNOFEST is to increase public interest in technology, encourage young people to produce and innovate, and contribute to the vision of “A Technology-Producing Türkiye” in line with the National Technology Initiative.

TEKNOFEST aims to raise awareness of domestic and national production, create an ecosystem in which young people can develop their own technologies, and support Türkiye’s journey toward becoming a leading country in critical technologies. By providing a strong platform for transforming ideas into projects, TEKNOFEST plays a pioneering role in cultivating qualified human capital.
 

Which Fields Does TEKNOFEST Cover?

TEKNOFEST combines technology competitions with a comprehensive festival experience. Competitions are organized in future-oriented fields such as aerospace technologies, artificial intelligence, software development, robotics, energy, environment, agriculture, health, and maritime technologies. These competitions offer young innovators a powerful platform to turn their ideas into projects and develop innovative, real-world solutions.

In addition to competition finals and award ceremonies, the festival area hosts air shows, exhibitions, stage events, concerts, talks, workshops, and interactive experience zones, offering visitors a rich and multidimensional experience. With this holistic structure, TEKNOFEST positions technology not only as something to be observed but as something to be experienced and inspiring.
 

What Are TEKNOFEST Technology Competitions?

TEKNOFEST Technology Competitions consist of a wide range of categories and subcategories that expand every year, appealing to different age groups and areas of interest. Competitions cover fields such as defense technologies, robotics and unmanned systems, artificial intelligence, software, autonomous solutions, energy, and environmental technologies.

Through these competitions, participants gain the opportunity to transform their ideas into projects, develop prototypes, and produce technological solutions with real-life applications. Teams that reach the final stage present their projects at the TEKNOFEST festival area, meeting both juries and visitors.
 

Who Can Participate?

TEKNOFEST competitions are open to a broad participant profile, ranging from primary school students to high school students, associate and undergraduate students, graduate degree holders, and professionals. Applications can be made individually or as a team, while age, education level, and team structure requirements vary depending on the competition category. This inclusive structure allows participants of all ages and levels to bring their projects to life in fields that match their skills and interests.
 

How Does the Application Process Work?

Applications for TEKNOFEST competitions are accepted online via teknofest.org, in accordance with the annual application calendar. During the application process, participants submit their selected category, team information, project summary, and required documents through the system.

Following the application phase, projects go through pre-evaluation, detailed evaluation, and final stages. Finalist teams earn the opportunity to exhibit and present their projects at the TEKNOFEST festival area.

Opportunities and Support Offered at TEKNOFEST

TEKNOFEST offers more than just a competition experience; it provides a comprehensive support ecosystem extending from idea development to prototyping, and from career planning to entrepreneurship.

Within the scope of the TEKNOFEST Entrepreneurship Program, finalist teams at the university level and above benefit from entrepreneurship training, mentorship programs, and investor meetings. Participants are also awarded Ministry of Industry and Technology–approved digital certificates, supporting their academic and professional journeys.

Finalist teams receive transportation and accommodation support, material assistance during project development, and awards for top-ranking teams. In addition, technical visits, training sessions, and mentorship activities help participants build strong connections within the technology ecosystem.

As part of career opportunities, participants are offered internship opportunities at leading technology institutions, as well as guidance and support for participation in international competitions. Through the National Technology Teams Support Program, selected teams receive advanced support including materials, consultancy, workshops, and production facilities to further develop their projects.
